What are health plan premiums?

A health plan premium is the amount of money that you pay each month for your health insurance plan. The rates should not change for the length of the plan, but some plans are set to change premium after a specified amount of time. Your premiums paid do NOT go towards your deductible or max out-of-pocket limit. If you are self-employed or the business owner then health insurance premiums may be tax deductible, but you should always talk to a tax expert about tax related situations.
