C Shane Saunders
Co-Founder and Licensed Agent
His extensive experience and training allows him to understand the intricacies of today’s changing health care insurance laws and guidelines, and the importance of truly getting to know his clients to provide the most accurate health insurance quote. He believes the personalized approach to medical health care insurance is key, and he strives to offer every client the individual care and attention they deserve.
He has a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from UTSA and a Masters of Arts in Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Forth Worth. He is accredited and licensed and has received comprehensive certification in Healthcare Reform as well as all forms of state health care insurance plans. He offers individual health insurance coverage, life insurance, several other lines of affordable insurance options as well as group health insurance plans.
Shane is a partner in a large brokerage that is an “umbrella” that The Insurance Solutions Experts works underneath. It is a nationwide group of top insurance experts made up of passionate and dedicated health care advocates. Shane enjoys cooking, gardening, playing strategy games, fishing, disc golfing, golfing, goofing off with his daughters, telling corny jokes, eating out at Chinese Buffet’s and rooting for his favorite San Antonio basketball team any chance he gets!!! He loves going to games so feel free to offer to take him.
Shane is a resident of Texas and is also licensed in Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia and is regularly adding licenses in more states.
Kari Saunders
Co-Founder and Licensed Agent
Kari Saunders is the co-founder of The Insurance Solutions Experts® and is our Group Insurance and Medicare Specialist. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications from Missouri Baptist University and a Masters of Arts in Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
She has served as a missionary in several countries and worked as a student adviser, assistant director and director in International Services Offices at both a state and private university. She began her career in insurance when her husband’s agency, Saunders Insurance Solutions, was growing so fast that she decided it was a great time to join him. Shane and Kari have 2 daughters, and are hoping to adopt soon, and are active in church and various community groups.
When Kari has down time, she loves to read, play board games, and hang out with her family. Kari oversees agent contracting, group business, our Medicare team, and various other administrative tasks for our agency.
Kari is a resident of Texas and is also licensed in Missouri, Illinois, Arizona, and New Mexico.
Cathy Mortlock
Licensed Agent
Cathy came to The Insurance Solutions Experts® with an extensive background in the health insurance industry. She worked for UnitedHealthcare for just over 20 years, gaining a significant understanding of health, dental, life and ancillary insurance markets. She knows just how important it is to have the proper coverage. She also understands how challenging it can be for individuals and families due to the numerous carriers and options available, along with today’s changing health care insurance laws. She has a passion for helping people and truly enjoys working with clients to find the best possible coverage to fit their unique needs.
Cathy enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys helping at her children’s school and attending their many after school activities. They also enjoy outdoor activities including camping, skiing, biking, hiking and various sports.
Cathy is a resident of Wisconsin and is also licensed in Arizona and Texas.
Sharon Boncek

Sharon came to The Insurance Solutions Experts with an extensive insurance background. She started her insurance career selling auto policies, and then later found her calling in the health insurance field. For several years, she partnered with financial advisors to assist clients with their health insurance needs. This included coverage for self-employed individuals, families, Medicare eligible and groups of all sizes.
Sharon temporarily left the world of insurance to follow her passion for helping homeless animals. This led her to a cat rescue group where she became the group Treasurer and Vice President of Adoptions. She also was a groomer for 11 years.
Sharon realized that she missed helping individuals with their insurance needs and always knew that she would find her way back to insurance. After working with captive insurance companies and agencies for a few years, she knew that she would need to be able to represent many companies to find the best solution for her clients and that led her to The Insurance Solutions Experts. Her expertise is helping the over 65 market but is able to assist with all ages and groups.
Sharon is a resident of Texas and is also licensed in Florida, Michigan, Missouri, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
